How do you apply sales skills to written communications? That’s exactly what we teach on our Write to Sell course. It’s not true that people don’t like being sold to, they just don’t like being sold to in the wrong way.
Sales is about building relationships through effective marketing rather than sending pushy sales emails or aggressive LinkedIn messages. Show your potential customers how you add value and the sales will come more naturally.
Many people shy away from sales; they don’t consider themselves to be a salesperson. We think every person in your business is a salesperson and every person should know how to build rapport, engage the reader and move potential customers closer to the buying stage.
This course is for anyone that communicates with new or existing customers via email and social media, as well as those responsible for creating copy for sales and marketing materials.
Our full day Write to Sell course covers the following:
- Intro to copywriting
- Preparing the brief
- Identifying your target audience
- Understanding the ‘buying environment’
- Features and benefits
- Using emotion in selling
- Writing for your reader
- Objection handling
- Call to action/closing the sale
- Short copy (PPC, meta descriptions, social media posts, short ads)
- Writing for websites
- Direct mail and email
- Press releases, blogs and articles
- General writing skills
- Editing & proofreading your copy
Our full day course covers all of the above and a practical element where delegates create the brief for a specific marketing campaign. The afternoon session can be tailored to include more or less detail on the types of copy relevant to your business.

Our suggested timings for our full day workshops are:
Option 1: Morning 09:00-12:30, afternoon 13:15-16:00
Option 2: Morning 09:30-13:00, afternoon 13:45- 16:30
We can make lunch breaks longer or shorter to suit your requirements. There will also be a 15-minute break during the morning session and a 15-minute break during the afternoon session.
You can book our in-house training for up to 8 delegates. If you have less than 3 delegates then it may be more cost-effective to book one of our scheduled training events. Additional delegates can be added for a small supplement of £100+vat per person.
